"Last Chapter Within This Walls"
(by: VG Kyle T. Tevar)
The crisp morning air carried the scent of blooming sampaguitas, a familiar fragrance that always signaled the start of a special day. Today was no different, except this time, the air buzzed with a bittersweet anticipation. It was the 60th Foundation Day of the Sisters of Mary School Adlas Inc., Silang, Cavite, and for me, a graduating senior, it was my last time to witness this annual celebration as a student. As I walked through the school gates, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. The vibrant banners, the meticulously decorated classrooms, the familiar faces of teachers and classmates – everything seemed to whisper a silent farewell. The day unfolded in a kaleidoscope of emotions. The solemn Mass, filled with hymns and prayers, reminded us of the legacy built by the Sisters of Mary, a legacy of faith, education, and service that had shaped countless lives. The vibrant cultural performances, a tapestry of dance, song, and music, showcased the school's rich artistic heritage and the talents nurtured within its walls. The speeches, filled with gratitude and inspiration, highlighted the school's journey over the past six decades, emphasizing the unwavering commitment to empowering young minds and fostering a spirit of excellence. But amidst the joyous celebrations, a quiet sadness lingered. This was the last time I would witness the school's vibrant spirit as a student, the last time I would feel the camaraderie of my classmates, the last time I would be a part of this unique community. As the day drew to a close, a sense of bittersweet fulfillment settled in. The memories of laughter, learning, and growth, the friendships forged, the values instilled – all these would forever be etched in my heart. This 60th Foundation Day was not just a celebration of the school's legacy; it was a celebration of my own journey within its walls. It was a reminder that while my time as a student was coming to an end, the lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the spirit of the Sisters of Mary would remain with me, guiding me as I embarked on a new chapter in my life. As I walked out of the school gates, the setting sun casting long shadows on the familiar path, I knew that this wasn't a goodbye, but a new beginning. The Sisters of Mary School Adlas Inc. would always hold a special place in my heart, a testament to the transformative power of education and the enduring legacy of the Sisters of Mary.
Foundation Day at the Sisters of Mary was a whirlwind of emotions, a tapestry woven with threads of joy, gratitude, and a deep sense of belonging. As I stood amidst the vibrant sea of faces, I felt a surge of pride, knowing that I was part of something truly special. The air crackled with anticipation, the vibrant colors of the decorations reflecting the spirit of celebration that permeated the atmosphere. The day began with a solemn Mass, a time for reflection and thanksgiving. As I listened to the priest's words, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the unwavering support and guidance of the Sisters of Mary. Their dedication to educating and empowering young people like me had been a constant source of inspiration, shaping my values and aspirations.
The highlight of the day, however, was the grand procession. As I joined the throng of students, teachers, and staff, I felt a surge of excitement. The procession was a testament to the unity and camaraderie that defined the Sisters of Mary community. The music swelled, the colors danced, and the rhythmic chants of the students filled the air. It was a spectacle that left an indelible mark on my memory. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I witnessed the unwavering faith and dedication of the Sisters of Mary. Their tireless efforts to nurture and guide us, to provide us with the tools we needed to succeed, were truly remarkable.
The day culminated in a joyous feast, a time for laughter, camaraderie, and shared stories. As I sat with my friends, reminiscing about our experiences at the Sisters of Mary, I realized how much this institution had shaped me. It had not only provided me with a quality education but had also instilled in me a deep sense of compassion, responsibility, and service. I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the Sisters of Mary, for their unwavering belief in me and their commitment to creating a better world. It was a day that I would cherish forever, a day that reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of education and the enduring spirit of the Sisters of Mary.
