Blue Skies: A Critique of 'For the Birds'

MEDIA CONTENT

The plot of the short film goes on the birds with their means of decision-making. it suggests how those with same kind firmly decide "one-and-for-all". Sometimes, they tend to miss critical thinking out of crab mentality. Because things will go on smoothly unless we do the things we regret at the end. It is when they fall down they they realize the sad consequences of being too contented. That is all because of lacking the needed critical thinking, and too much trust on companionship.

MEDIA PRODUCER

The clip by Pixar Studios directed by Ralph Eggleston and produced by Karen Dufilo exemplifies message strength through analogies. They use both small and tall birds as a tool to indicate maturity. Such indication on the differences of how immature and mature minds work. As a whole, they use birds to signify those who are 'up' in their lives. They prioritize these groups according to what is observable in the society today. A manifestation of the producer's societal concerns.

MEDIA AUDIENCE

The material is intended and contextualized for ALL. It shows those who works as a team with their own maturities and decisions. A good example is at work and school setting- work members or schoolmates must cope with each other's intention, they shall consider common good at a cost. The production suggests media is wide in all audiences and they are a good tool to share, transact, and communicate ideas.
